How does your garden grow?

This week at Trinity, students engaged in an exciting hands-on learning experience by planting a variety of flowers and seeds both in their classrooms and on the playground. This activity not only allowed them to connect with nature but also provided a valuable opportunity to learn about the life cycle of plants, the importance of biodiversity, and the role of pollinators in our ecosystem.

Classroom Activities

In the classroom, students carefully prepared small pots with soil, ensuring that they understood the significance of proper planting techniques, such as:

  • How deep to plant the seeds

  • The appropriate amount of water needed for optimal growth

Playground Garden Project

On the playground, the excitement continued as they worked together to create a vibrant garden space. This area was designed to be a communal project, where students could:

  • Collaborate and share responsibilities

  • Foster teamwork and a sense of community

Ongoing Care and Responsibility

As the weeks progress, students will continue to care for their plants, watering them regularly and observing their growth. This will enhance their understanding of:

  • Responsibility

  • Nurturing
